ASTM F2280 A490 Torque Shear Bolt Hot-Dip Galvanized

Torque shear bolts are manufactured from high-strength alloy steel or carbon steel, undergoing rigorous heat treatment to achieve exceptional tensile strength. They are available in two primary ASTM grades: Grade F1852, equivalent in strength to A325 structural bolts with 120 ksi minimum tensile strength, and Grade F2280, equivalent to A490 bolts with 150 to 173 ksi tensile strength. Standard imperial sizes range from 1/2 inch to 1-1/8 inch in diameter, with metric sizes also available. Head styles include round button heads and heavy hex structural heads. Available surface treatments include plain finish, black oxide, mechanical galvanizing, and hot-dip galvanizing. Common applications include steel frame buildings, bridges, transmission towers, wind turbines, heavy machinery, and any critical connection requiring vibration resistance and joint integrity.
